Other service details Disembarked in France 14 Aug 1914. Received injury to thigh during retreat from Mons and was captured by the Germans and taken to prisoner of war camp in Germany 26 Aug 1914. On 20 Mar 1917 he escaped from POW Camp and made his way succesfully back to England arriving on 5 Apr 1917. In 1918 Philip served in Palestine with 23rd London Regiment.
