NotesThe Cranborne Church of England Schools Log Book for 1912 - 1929 in its entry dated 11th September 1914 under the heading “The following scholars have enlisted to fight for his King and Country in the great European War” this includes 'Stanley Tapper'. There is a second entry for Stanley dated 9th June 1916: "I regret to state that one of our late scholars Stanley Tapper was drowned on Monday". (In Death and Memorial details, [below] he was on HMS Hampshire when it was struck by a mine and sunk in a storm.)
