Circumstances of death War Diary: Suvla 9th Aug The Battalion advanced towards High Ridge against enemy holding trenches south of Karakol Dagh. Advance ceased after certain point owing partly to exhausted condition of men. Number of them had had no water fro two days. Fell back in the evening and occupied trenches vacated by Regiment of 30th Brigade.
